Fall’s GOURD-geous Fruit!

Did you know pumpkins are part of the gourd family and are very nutritious? Pumpkins are low in calories, fat, and sodium and are high in fiber. They are good sources of Vitamin A, Vitamin B, potassium, protein, and iron.

Pumpkins have endless uses when fall rolls around, so carve them, bake them or decorate with them. October in Indiana is harvest season for this orange fruit, and there are countless places to find them grown locally. So start planning you pumpkin-related activities now!
