Cube Steak with onion and mushroom gravy
For fast-paced days this meal is economical and fast. This is a country style steak with a flavorful gravy!
- 4 Trietsch farms cube steaks approx. 1.5 lbs
- 1/3 cup flour
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 large sliced onion
- 14 oz beef broth
- 1 package dry onion soup
- 1 can sliced mushrooms
Combine flour, garlic salt, black pepper in shallow dish. Coat both sides of cube steak in mixture.
Heat oil in large cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add steak and cook approx. 5 min per side.
Remove steak and set aside.
Add onion, broth, onion soup and mushrooms to the skillet. Scrape up any brown bits stuck to the bottom of the pan and bring to a simmer and cook until onions are soft.
Place steak back in pan to warm.
Serve over mashed potatoes.
