Out of a Jam
Out of a Jam is a nonprofit organization with a mission to help young adults develop culinary, vocational and life skills. In the Essentials program, students learn basic skills used in a commercial kitchen to make gourmet jams and jellies. Students can use their newly acquired skills on the JAMM food truck, where they learn how to better manage themselves and others.
Feeding, Nourishing, Transforming
New to the Out of a Jam list of services is a food rescue program, Feeding Fort Wayne. In 2021, students and volunteers made more than 30,000 servings of nutritious, fully-cooked meals given to families experiencing food insecurity. If you’re interested in supporting the efforts of Out of a Jam, you can sign up to volunteer at www.outofajamfw.org/volunteer.
About Indiana Grown
The Indiana Grown initiative aims to not only form a clearer designation of which products truly come from Indiana, but to also help Hoosier consumers easily identify and buy these products. We truly believe everyone has a chance to share in the success of the initiative; whether it’s a large or small operation, high-tech or low-tech, traditional or non-traditional.
