Garcia’s Gardens

We’re always amazed by what can be accomplished at small urban farms. In 2015, Garcia’s Gardens responded to a need for healthy food options in their community and started growing fresh produce on 1.5 acres in Indianapolis. Now at seven years old, the farm produces salad mix, spinach, arugula, lettuce, kale, sweet rounds, carrots, radishes, beets, microgreens, edible flowers, mushrooms, herbs, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, maple syrup and flowers. Shoppers can find these products at Indianapolis-area farmers markets and online. You may have even tried some of their greens or veggies at a local restaurant, including some of our Indiana-grown favorites, The Loft at Traders Point, Ash & Elm Cider Co. and Turchetti’s Delicatessen & Meat Market.

Fresh produce, year-round

Garcia’s Gardens produces something all year long. Winter produce, like kale and carrots, are sweetened by the cold; a welcomed substitute while waiting for the return of cherry tomato bruschetta and cucumber salads. Eating seasonally may feel limiting at first, but it may help you learn to embrace what the different seasons have to offer! Learn more about this farm at garciasgardens.com.

About Indiana Grown
The Indiana Grown initiative aims to not only form a clearer designation of which products truly come from Indiana, but to also help Hoosier consumers easily identify and buy these products. We truly believe everyone has a chance to share in the success of the initiative; whether it’s a large or small operation, high-tech or low-tech, traditional or non-traditional.
