The Meat Cake Invitational is an annual culinary competition that invites talented local chefs to showcase their meat cookery skills. However, in previous years, the competition has welcomed some James Beard Nominated Chefs as both participants and judges, adding an extra layer of prestige to the event.
Unlike many other culinary competitions, the meat cakes for the Meat Cake Invitational are made ahead of time. Each chef is given a set amount of time to create their unique meat cake masterpiece using a variety of meats, spices, and flavorings. The chefs are encouraged to think outside the box and come up with inventive and creative recipes that will impress the judges and guests alike.
On the day of the event, the meat cakes are put on display for guests to sample and vote for their favorite. This is where the real excitement of the competition comes in, as guests get to try each of the cakes and vote for the one they think is the best.
The Meat Cake Invitational is a celebration of the art of meat cookery and a showcase of the local culinary talent. Whether you’re a meat lover or a foodie, it’s an event that’s sure to delight and satisfy your taste buds.
