My name is Jeannie and I am the Cofounder of Café Baby. I have always been passionate about healthy eating and leery of canned and processed foods. When my husband and I had our daughter, Camila, I knew that I wanted to make my own baby food. I quickly realized how time consuming it was. Being a full-time architect, I had little time to spend in the kitchen preparing our food, let alone baby food. I started to think about a business that could bring freshly prepared baby food right to my doorstep. I took this idea to my mom, Sherri, and with her love of cooking and my business mind, Café Baby was born.
We created an online store with three aged-based purée menus, a toddler menu, and a bakery that serves healthy snacks and lactation cookies for nursing moms. Busy caregivers can place their orders online and then we deliver to their doorstep. Because of the success we have had at local farmers markets and events, we are shifting our business from not only being online store, but to a storefront and grocery stores.
What makes our product stand out from commercially processed baby food? Instead of cooking our food at high temperatures to preserve the shelf life, which in turn cooks out the nutrients, we steam or roast all of our fruits and vegetables, purée and freeze it. Freezing the food is also known as “Nature’s Pause Button” which locks in all of the flavor, nutrition and color. We stand behind our four-month shelf life knowing that those precious nutrients are still intact.
We know how crucial a baby's diet is in the first 1,000 days of life and we want to help everyone have the opportunity to feed their baby the best. Rest assured, each product is made with the freshest ingredients and just a pinch of love for little ones.
