We're a small sugar bush in east central Indiana. Our passion is making the best pure maple syrup possible. We believe quality is more important than quantity. We craft our syrup over a wood-fired evaporator using salvaged wood, and harvest our sap using sustainable, conservation-approved methods. Our name comes from the time-honored tradition of using your body to measure trees and determine tap count: if the tree diameter is bigger than your handspan, it's large enough to tap; if you can "hug" the tree and clasp your hands together, it can have 1 tap; if your hands don't touch, it can have 2 taps; if your hands are wide apart, it can have 3 taps. Unlike many sugarers, we never use more than 3 taps per tree. We welcome visitors, and love to share our passion!
